At Bermuda HealthCare Services and Brown-Darrell Clinic, our commitment to community support is at the heart of what we do.

We believe in giving back, uplifting our youth, and helping to create pathways for educational and athletic success. As part of this mission, we proudly support the Pembroke Hamilton Club and its youth programme, fostering development both on and off the field.

We also invest in Bermuda’s future health professionals through The Brown Family Health Scholarship, awarded to a Bermudian undergraduate or postgraduate student pursuing studies in Health Sciences, Dentistry, Nursing, or Medicine at Howard University.

These initiatives form an important part of our Community Support Programme—reflecting our dedication to strengthening our community, empowering young people, and encouraging excellence in athletic and academic achievement.


BHCS HOSTS ANOTHER SUCCESSFUL DOCS FOR DINNER FOCUSED ON CLINICAL EXCELLENCE

Bermuda HealthCare Services (BHCS), in partnership with Brown-Darrell Clinic, successfully hosted a fully subscribed Docs for Dinner educational event, bringing together Bermuda’s medical community for an evening of continuing education, collaboration, and clinical insight. The highly anticipated event featured internationally recognised Neurointervention specialist Timo Krings, MD, PhD, FRCPC, of Lahey Hospital & Medical Center, who also serves as Professor and Chair at UMass Chan Medical School.

Dr Krings delivered a compelling presentation titled“What’s New in the Brain? Why Doctors Need to Know About Neurointervention,” highlighting the latest advances in neurointerventional techniques and their growing importance in modern clinical practice. Attendees gained valuable insight into innovative treatment approaches for neurological conditions, reinforcing the importance of staying abreast of rapidly evolving medical technologies.

Held at BLU Bar & Grill, the evening began with a networking reception, followed by dinner and an engaging, discussion-driven presentation. The event’s full attendance underscored the strong demand for high-quality continuing medical education opportunities within Bermuda’s healthcare community.

The Brown Family Scholarship - Supporting and Investing in Bermuda’s Future Healthcare Leaders

The 2026 Brown Family Scholarship was presented to Bermudian student Zajae Lee in recognition of her exceptional academic achievement, leadership, and longstanding commitment to community service.A graduate of Saltus Grammar School, Ms Lee earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology with Honours in History, as well as a Master of Public Health in Health Equity from Xavier University of Louisiana. She will begin studies this autumn at Howard University College of Dentistry, where she will pursue a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree.

Her work has focused on health equity, mentorship, and community outreach in both Bermuda and the United States through organisations including the Hunger Coalition, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated, and Gina Spence Productions.

Established in 2009 by Dr. Ewart Brown and Wanda Henton-Brown, the Brown Family Scholarship supports Bermudian students pursuing careers and leadership roles in healthcare. To date, more than $85,000 has been awarded to students demonstrating academic excellence, leadership, and a dedication to advancing their communities through service and health equity.

Investing in Bermuda’s future healthcare professionals strengthens the long-term health and well-being of our community. Congratulations to Zajae Lee on this well-deserved recognition and best wishes as she continues her educational journey.



Bermuda HealthCare Services Supports Bermuda College Foundation Golf Classic to Fund Scholarships

March 15, 2026 - Bermuda HealthCare Services was proud to support the Bermuda College Foundation Annual Golf Classic as a sponsor of the charity tournament held on 14 March at Port Royal Golf Course. The annual event brought together corporate partners, community leaders, and supporters to raise funds that help expand scholarship opportunities and student support programmes for Bermudian students at Bermuda College.

Founder and Executive Chairman of Bermuda HealthCare Services, Dr. Ewart Brown, highlighted the importance of supporting education as part of strengthening Bermuda’s future, stating: “Education is one of the most powerful investments a country can make in its future. January 23, 2026 — Docs for Dinner, the quarterly professional engagement event, achieved full capacity attendance and strong online engagement during its most recent instalment, with live coverage broadcast on the TNN Facebook page.

The fully subscribed event brought together Bermuda’s medical community alongside visiting international healthcare leaders for an evening of professional exchange, collaboration, and continuing medical education. The programme featured an expert presentation by Dr Zoher Ghogawala, internationally recognised neurosurgeon and Chair of Neurosurgery at Lahey Hospital & Medical Center, and Professor of Neurosurgery at UMass Chan Medical School. His presentation, “The Future of Comprehensive Spinal Care,” explored emerging trends in multidisciplinary spinal care, advances in minimally invasive techniques, and the role of innovation in improving patient outcomes.

Adding to the evening’s significance was the attendance of several distinguished healthcare leaders, including Dr Susan Moffat-Bruce, President of Lahey Hospital & Medical Center; Dr Dinamarie Garcia-Banigan, Assistant Professor of Medicine at UMass Chan–Lahey; and Scott Pearman, Chief Executive Officer and President of the Bermuda Hospitals Board. Their presence underscored the importance of strengthening dialogue and collaboration between Bermuda’s healthcare sector and international medical institutions.

The BHCS Annual Turkey Giveaway is December 20, 2025


Bermuda Healthcare Services is proud to give back to the community with our 13th Annual Turkey Giveaway, taking place on Saturday, 20 December, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

A total of 150 turkeys will be distributed. Bermuda Healthcare Services patients who have received a raffle ticket from the clinic may collect their turkey during the designated hours. After 11:00 a.m., any remaining turkeys will be made available to members of the public on a first-come, first-served basis.

We look forward to seeing you on Saturday, 20 December, between 9:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m.
